for connection
and healing
Forest therapy, also known as forest bathing, is a highly accessible practice of slowing down and connecting with the natural world intentionally through the senses. This simple act of immersing oneself in nature without distraction is emerging as an effective way to improve human health and well-being. But the benefits go beyond improvements in physical health: guided forest therapy walks can foster an increased sense of belonging by strengthening our relationship with ourselves, our community, and our environment.

Eleni Sallinger is a forest therapy guide certified by the Association of Nature & Forest Therapy (ANFT). She has a deep love for helping people connect with nature and with their own bodies, and she brings special sensitivity to accessibility in her work. Her guiding is informed by her training as a physician assistant and biologist, and by the One Health paradigm, which emphasizes the interconnected nature of human, animal, and environmental health. She is honored to share this practice with her community in New Orleans and beyond. It is her hope that these walks help us remember we are part of the natural world, and perhaps inspire us to care for the world around us just as it cares for us.
